ZFHUM : Zebrafish - Human Orthologous Genes Database

Zebrafish is an important and widely-used vertebrate model organism in scientific research. Zebrafish was the first vertebrate to be cloned. The zebrafish genome is about half the size of most mammalian genomes. Researchers demonstrate that 70% of protein coding human genes are related to Zebrafish genes and 84% of these genes are associated with human genes. The Zebrafish genome has some unique features not seen in other vertebrates. The synthetic conversion of human and Zebrafish genome allows one to investigate the function of human genes using Zebrafish model. This is a database exclusively for Zebrafish and human genes by collecting all the possible information about these orthologous genes from various bioinformatics tools. This data can be used for human disease related studies.
